Privacy policy

Cartsemble lets an organizer run a group buy from one link. This policy explains what we collect when you use it, why, and what we do with it. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
What we collect
- From organizers: your name, email, the group order and products you enter, and any Venmo or Zelle payment handle you choose to add.
- From participants: your name, email, optional phone number, what you order, and the payment status you or the organizer record.
- Automatically: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
- Usage counts: we count, per day, how many group orders are created, orders submitted and cancelled, and how many visitors reach each screen of the ordering flow. These counts use no cookies and are not linked to you.
We don't use cookies for tracking or analytics, and we never collect card or bank details.
How we use it
- To run the group order: show it to the people with the link and roll participant orders up into one combined order.
- To email you your manage or edit link, confirmations of your participant order, payment requests, and reminders about a deadline or a payment that the organizer can turn off.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Anyone with a group order's link sees the organizer's name and any Venmo or Zelle handle they added. Anyone holding its manage link (the organizer) can see every participant order in it, including names, emails and phone numbers. Your edit link shows your own participant order to whoever holds it. Treat these links like passwords and share them only with people you trust.
We use Amazon Web Services in the United States to host the app, store data and send email. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the service and the people who use it.
Payments
Payments happen outside Cartsemble, directly between you and the organizer through Venmo, Zelle or cash. If you choose to pay with Venmo, we open Venmo with the amount and a note filled in. Those services have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep group orders and participant orders, including cancelled ones, so organizers and participants can come back to them. The organizer can delete a group order, with every participant order in it, at any time from the manage page. We also delete group orders automatically 90 days after their deadline. If you want a group order or your personal information deleted sooner, ask us. Backups of the database can hold deleted data for up to 35 days.
Your choices
You can see and change your own details through your edit link until the deadline. The organizer can change what you ordered but not your name, email or phone. To access, correct or delete your information, or with any privacy question, email hello@cartsemble.app. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and we'll honor them.
Security
Links are long and random so they can't be guessed, and data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't enter anything you wouldn't want an organizer or link holder to see.
Children
Cartsemble isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
